Welcome to the Gilman Street Basketball Club home page.  We are pleased to announce our opening of programs beginning on May 30th inside the Historic Gilman Place Building.  The gym is one that is loved by basketball enthusiasts throughout Central Maine and is a gem we cannot wait to display for others.

We are a full service basketball club offering memberships, training, clinics, fitness area, leagues, a players lounge and so much more.  If you are looking to set up a time for Individual Training e-mail us at the above e-mail address. We are currently offering Specialty Clinics in Post Play, Point Guard Play, Shooting and 1 on 1 moves.  We also have our Basketball Institutes durng the week for varying age groups.

Specialized 8 week Shooting Program

The program is an 8 week program and takes a considerable commitment but we feel the results will be tremendous and guarantee you will see the difference.  While all the components are important, the key factor is the use of video to analyze, teach and make permanent the necessary changes.  There is no sport at the highest levels that does not use video technology to enhance and improve.  We will also take advantage of what the Shot Loc has to offer.  As the only NBA recognized shooting device, we will incorporate all it has to offer for everyone to maximize their improvement.  This is the weekly program layout, recognizing that this will last for 8 weeks:

  Video/Supervised Sessions:  90 Minutes - The first 30 minutes of sessions is the video and shot form analysis followed by Supervised Shooting - One hour of Shooting with supervision from instructors.  This is the time to make corrections and adjustments. Time to be determined byparticipants and instructors.

During the Week - Two days a week each participant will be required to do one hour on the gun with a partner, using the Shot Loc.  The participants will be required to shoot a required number of shots from designated spots and track their progress on provided charts.  Times for Shot Gun and Loc work will be determined on Saturday film sessions. 

Summary - The program will be require 4.5 hours each week and a total of 36 hours over the 8 weeks.  The cost of the program, which includes a Shot Loc and Video progression at the end is $375.  Half is due at the time of registration and the other portion is due by the end of the 4th week.  I can tell you there is no other shooting program right now being offered in Maine that will be as intensive and equally produce the results that are needed.
